There is NOT a lot you have to do when wearing synthetic dreadlock extensions. However, there IS one thing you must ALWAYS do…and that is separate your dreadlocks once daily. It literally takes about 1-2 minutes and is SO. WORTH. IT. Please don’t skimp on this simple step. My earrings are linked in my linktree. So is the hair I used to make this set. I really love Palmer’s coconut oil and cocoa butter. I used it on my pregnant belly for two pregnancies and did not get a single stretch mark. I use it on my lips constantly. It smells so good. I really like this spray version for my hair. I’ll link it today, too. What is your go-to oil? Any faves? #dreadlockextensions #syntheticdreadlocks #syntheticdreadlockextensions #curlydreads #wavydreads #dreadlockstyle #dreadlockshairstyle #dreadlocks #dreadstyles #dreadstyles #dreadlockcare #dreadlockmaintenance #coconutoil #coconutoilforhair
Replying to @Charlottebrickelberry I have tried many things but this 6 layer setup has proven most effective for me (sandwich boards, rubber grips lining, pony clamps, alligator clip, extra board or book, heavy weight or dumbbell). Keep the questions coming! Thanks for watching. What is your hair clamping technique? What do you think of mine? How can I make it better? Please share in the comments. I always try to respond and super love hearing from you. Have a wonderful weekend 🌹❤️🌹! #dreadlockextensions #curlydreadlockextensions #curlydreadlocks #curlydreads #wavydreadlocks #wavydreads #dreadlocks #dreads #locs #syntheticdreadlocks #fauxdreadlocks #dreadlockstutorial
Third time’s a charm. I never realized the challenges of ombré hair. Look how weird the coloring is in that first bun. Gah. I thought…okay…I will just bring in some brown. No big deal. Well…that was disappointing, too. The last attempt was my crowning achievement, though . Just a ponytail not pulled fully through on the last go around. I think it is super cute and comfy and secure!!! Why didn’t I think of that first? And did you see the back?! Dreamy!!! And my Amazonite hair wrap is 10/10 with my sweater. I feel like this style takes off at least 10 years—at least in spirit! What do you think? Yeah or nay? Happy Friday, friends!!! #dreadlockextensions #syntheticdreadlocks #syntheticdreadlockextensions #curlydreads #wavydreads
Sometimes I feel like my ponytail looks a little too much like workout hair. If I am dressing up a little…I want to put on some fabulous earrings and put my hair back…but don’t want a regular run-of-the-mill ponytail. A fishtail braid always looks so textured and interesting. So just doing that elevates a ponytail. Adding that little clip at the end to hide the ends gives it one more layer of mystery. I love it. I think it has a slight faux-hawk look. You can do this with natural hair, curly, and regular dreadlock extensions. The clip even helps to alleviate some of the weight of the ponytail—which is great for people with really heavy locks. Thanks for watching! Have a great day! #dreadlockextensions #syntheticdreadlocks #syntheticdreadlockextensions #curlydreads #wavydreads #dreadlockstyle #dreadlockshairstyle #dreadlocks #dreadstyles #dreadlocs
I am in love with stars and everything celestial right now. And I’ve always loved Frank…well…at least since 1993 when I worked as a hostess in an Italian restaurant (Grisanti’s. Remember that place?). They blasted Frank 24/7 there. I remember washing windows to Three Coins in the Fountain one morning. It is a good memory. Correction—it is a GREAT memory. I was so young and carefree back then. What a sweet girl I was. <sigh>. Okay. I’m back from my brief walk down memory lane. I already wore this dress to my Christmas party and I wore my hair mostly down. Sadly, I feel like the “star” of the show (the backless part of my dress) didn’t really get to shine that night because it was buried underneath my hair. So…here I am with take number two…a redemption song, so to speak…giving this baby it’s moment in the sun. And for the record…I am not really a bun person anymore. I wore them too frequently in my early parenting days and they just feel frumpy to me now. However, adding the sparkley pieces got my buns out of the yuck category and right on into the YUM place where I prefer to hang my hat these days. Plus the tendrils just level the whole game up, don’t you think? And can we please talk about this jacket?! It was half off and I had a coupon for an extra 40% off. I didn’t steal it…but I feel like I did! And the earrings?! Oh my gosh. That one with the chains? Swoon. If you want the link, let me know and I will add it to the linktree. PS what is your opinion on buns? 80’s secretary or cosmic contemporary fairy? Leave it in the past or bring it back fast? I love hearing your opinions, so please share in the comments! Who remembers the good old days and nights of 80’s carnivals? Rock and roll absolutely blasting from the Himalaya?! Colored lights flickering and flashing with screams and squeels coming from every direction. Dang that was fun. I can still smell the funnel cakes, corn dogs, and cotton candy. We played simple games and won prizes like rock band carnival mirrors, records, and stretched out and corked pop bottles filled with colored water. There were feathered roach clips, too! We used real, pointed darts to pop the balloons! And paid with nothing but the quarters and little cash we had squirreled away in our shallow pockets. Ahhh the good old days. They just don’t make cool stuff like that for kids anymore. Apparently glass and paraphernalia prizes are frowned upon now. And what is cash?! Oh well. It was good while it lasted. I did find some very pretty modern-day hair feathers for you, though. No roach clips…no. These come with wig clips. How very 2024. What was your favorite attraction at the carnival? I liked the ferris wheel. Do you miss those days? Or are things better now? If you were just a twinkle in the 80’s…do you think you would’ve liked that era? Tell menyour thoughts in the comments! PS “When You Close Your Eyes” was a hit in 1983. I was only 9 years old and in 4th grade and my view of the world was so small. I was probably barely tall enough to ride the Himalaya (and I was probably too terrified to, anyway). #dreadlockextensions #syntheticdreadlocks #syntheticdreadlockextensions #curlydreads #dreadlockstyle #hairfeathers #wavydreads #curlydreadlocks #dreadlocks #dreads #locstylesforwomen #80sflashback #temporarydreads #temporarydreadlocks
