When we adopted our furry friend, we made it a point to meet with the other family who had his brother once a month. It was during these visits that we saw something truly special—their bond was inseparable. Bjarni is a pup who has had a tough life. When he was spotted wandering the streets of Huntsville, he had only half a nose. A local animal control officer picked him up and brought him to a shelter, assuming he was a stray. The shelter soon realized Bjarni wasn’t a stray — he had a family. But when his family was notified that Bjarni had been picked up, they refused to come and get him. They no longer wanted him... Their reason broke our hearts! Come to.find out that they didn't want him because he was ugly...I really don't understand how they betrayed the one that loves them but in return, they dumped him instead. Our job is tearful and most of the time joyful for having to save a life of a dog is our commitment but this is far beyond our experience is rescue. We need to educate those abusers so they can understand the love our animals have and how to understand them. The cutest 4-month-old black Labrador Retriever puppy name Leo was roaming the street not knowing his faith, he managed to survive for 43 days in outside in the desert near Barstow Ca. When we got a call from our source that there was a little puppy that someone has found. When we got to his location, I couldn't believe my eyes seeing this cute lovable puppy that previousely dumped in a trash bag month and half ago but somehow we knew he bit his way out of the garbage bag and manage to survive on his own. Today is our most saddess and hurt breaking moment 💔 Please meet Berry, he is one of our rescue 3 years ago to a wonderful family who wanted a older dog and berry was at that time 16 years old but he had a good spirit and still had much energy in him. I remember introducing berry to Sheryl  who adopted him and berry was so happy that he would spin in circles even when he was 16 years old  we never felt so happy for berry, and i remember Sheryl  was telling me how happy she was to take berry home and ever since then, what i know from Sheryl is that he gave her much happiness during there time together with so much memories they have to share for the short time they had... It broke our hearts to hear the news about berry who passed away today and the photo was taken before Sheryl said goodbye...Berry 💔 will be missed.. “This is Sam. He was rescued a year ago found on side of the road at 3 months old, scared and soaking wet. One week after we had him brought back to our place,  he ran out of the back door of our facility. When we put sam in a comfortable bed in the backyard until we can get him to be checked out, he went missing...we were worried and didnt knownwhere he could be. 7 days later I happened to look out my window and he was sitting across the road. I ran to him and he just fell into my arms. I guess he wanted to go back to the place he was left behind..I notice when insaw him, it seems like someone had drop him off or he manage to make it back somehow with his right leg was completely broke in 2 places and left hip was broke and also hairline fracture of spine. He has rods and screws in right leg, left hip was ok to heal on its own (we didn't have much funds raised to fix Sam) back didn't need surgery because it was just hairline fracture. I've had him 5 years now and he's as onery as a hound can be, but we love him dearly. If he made it back to me in as bad of shape as he was in, I wasn't going to give up on him.“❤ Sam is doing well but time to time  he goes through depression but we are there for him. Hi, friends, My little buddy Ozzy fell in our pool today and sunk to the bottom. My wife, who was in her PJ's, dove into 45 degree water and saved her life! Hi everyone, we would like to share a wonderful story..."This old boy is 14 years old with many health problems and his owner surrendered him which i feel he is a coward!..... When i heard the news about this boy, i had to see for myself how anyone can abandon a old dog that needs more care and love, especially safety. I immediately grav him from the shelter and brought him back to our place to give him what he needs to get a foster care until he can go home to a loving family  and I promised him he'll smile again... ISTANBUL Istanbul’s stray dogs may have no home, but the city has made sure not to leave "man’s best friend" behind. Turkey’s largest animal shelter, called "Kisirkaya Hayvan Bakimevi" in Turkish, aims to meet the needs of stray dogs in the country’s largest city, Istanbul. Muhammet Nuri Coskun, director of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Veterinary Services, told Anadolu Agency that the shelter uses 26 vehicles to bring stray dogs to nursing homes. The dogs are then neutered and vaccinated against rabies before they receive a yellow ear tag that allows them to return to the place from where they were found in Istanbul. Built on 380 acres of land, the animal shelter also provides vaccination, sterilization and other services with help from veterinarians. Eighty people work at the shelter, out of which 18 are veterinarians, according to Coskun. The shelter contains a nursery, 10 treatment units and an administrative building. Each of these departments is 500 square meters. Coskun assured Istanbul residents not to worry about rabies from yellow ear tagged stray dogs. He said there had only been one case of rabies in the last three years in Istanbul. Veterinary services carried out rabies vaccinations on 25 stray animals in the city last year, he said. But Coskun warned "there could be a possibility that a stray animal [in Istanbul] has rabies if its behavior is not normal". He also urged animal lovers to not buy pets but to adopt them instead, which would help in reducing the numbers of animals without a home. This is Chippy. His human is 103 years old and failing. They have been living together in a group home for three years. Hi everyone, Every one of my fosters in the past year has been from the same rural SoCal shelter, less than 1 year old, and were taken the day they were set to be euthanized (they were in the shelter for 3 weeks total because that's how long they have before euthanasia). And guess what- the second they were brought to LA and posted online by a rescue, they all got adopted within weeks. All of them have wonderful families and homes now when they were supposed to die out in the desert shelter. The general public doesn't want to acknowledge the reality, but perfectly healthy, sweet, cute puppies are euthanized as much as the not-so-desirable old, sick, "scary" dogs. It's abhorrent how little breeders are regulated and how little funding gets attributed to the city shelters. Why are they all reliant on volunteer services?? It's great that people want to help, but there is plenty of money in the City of LA to hire enough full-time staff for the shelters. I enjoy having my rescue dogs and doing what I can to give back with fostering and volunteering, but man does it feel useless when the general public and our city lawmakers have so much more power to do good but don't care at all. It's like fighting an uphill battle with no end in sight. We need to step up if we want to save them! We understand it's impossible to save all but at least do our best to cha ge the law, policies, and mandate a new law to have more time to get them ready to be fostered. Sometime people are turned away even if they had pets before which doesn't mak sense! I understand they want to make sure they people have all the stuff they need for a good home but the fact is, dogs don't care about what you have, all they want is to be with you and be loved so give some people a chance to love again...we never know, maybe the previous dog they had sent them to be with them. "I can't believe I was part of something pretty amazing tonight. So, a dog walks into Walmart through the cart section. Sounds like the beginning of a joke, right? True story, though.
