Getting Upgrades by Decoding the Person at the Desk One of the things I promised was to talk about my technique for getting upgrades at hotels. When I walk into a hotel and make my way to the front desk I start thinking about HOW I’m going to ask for the upgrade If they have STRAIGHT eyebrows: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I get STRAIGHT TO THE POINT “I’d like an upgrade please” If they have ANGLED eyebrows: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I think about WHATS THEIR ANGLE and I say “I’m Brian Galke a Diamond member Are you the person who can get me an upgrade?” * * * * * * In this case they're helping out a Diamond member If they have ROUNDED eyebrows: * * * * * * * * * * * * I know they THINK ABOUT THE PEOPLE AROUND THEM. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I talk about the long travel I had and how I wish I had a larger room that I could just stretch out in and then ask if an upgrade is available? I'm asking for the same thing but I'm asking based on the person behind the desk. I’m making it about the person who can help me achieve what I'm looking for. Okay so I know you guys are thinking that's great but I don't travel hotels that often but you guys are all here as agency owners. Let me tell you the story about working with Atiba (De Souza). Atiba and I hopped on a a call and he said "I don't really believe all this" That’s a common response and if you know me you know I TOO WAS SKEPTICAL when I first was introduced to the skill I told him it was no problem and asked how I could help. He told me he had a big client call coming up after our talk. I offered to show him the skill by looking up his prospect to Decode his face. We found the doctor went and looked him up on LinkedIn and social media Then I had him show me his presentation. We sat down and modified his presentation for the Prospect. Atiba called me back an hour later saying “I just closed a 6-figure deal and he never asked me the price!” That’s the power of making your pitch, your presentation, or your request about the person you are talking to versus how you want to say it. #decodingfaces #upgrades #Makeitaboutothers

The 3 Basic Eyebrow Shapes: Starting with Straight Eyebrow the other thing you can learn about eyebrows is there's 3 basic eyebrow shapes. As you can see even Lego knows that this is true! Lego characters come with: * Straight eyebrows * Angled eyebrows * Rounded eyebrows And we're gonna learn what all 3 of those mean. It's like the game when we're a kid. If you want to win, you’ve got to put the right peg in the right hole. And that's what this is like So you start looking at people and go what does straight eyebrows mean? Straight eyebrows mean get straight to the point! This with straight eyebrows like: * Facts * Figures * Data I mentioned before that we were influenced through: Books Fairy tales Comic books Cartoons Even television and movies So look at Spock here What's Spock known for?………LOGIC What eyebrows do they give him…….Straight eyebrows Warren Buffett doesn't invest in stocks he feels good about. He's a hundred percent about the numbers and what does he have?…….Straight Eyebrows So remember straight eyebrows get straight to the point! #decodingfaces #eyebrows #Straighteyebrows #learntoreadfaces #physiognomy #softskills #basics #briangalke #keynotespeaker
The 3 Basic Eyebrow Shapes: Angled Eyebrows The next one is ANGLED EYEBROWS I mentioned I got angled eyebrows over time. Mine were once I became a corporate trainer. Then they slowly started to become angled. Why Because angled eyebrow people have to know what's my angle. Help them understand it. Then I can figure out how to help other people. Ruth Ginsburg here knew that she wanted to help women. But she had to go to law school first So help them understand what's their angle? What's the benefit of using you? What's the benefit of your product or service for them first to then help their customers? Once they UNDERSTAND IT it they can be your biggest advocate but you need to INCLUDE THEM. #decodingfaces #eyebrows #angledeyebrows #learntoreadfaces #physiognomy #softskills #basics #briangalke #keynotespeaker
From Introvert to RVP: Unlocking Sales Success I'm here to talk about the skill that took me from an introvert on the help desk to a regional vice president of sales with a forty million dollar book of business. And what's the worst thing you're gonna get out of today is how to get free food and drinks how to get upgrades in hotels and airlines. You guys interested in that Suddenly. When I say that is when people pay a lot more attention to that side of it but it makes it way more fun. I mentioned before I'm an introvert by nature What do us good introverts do? Well we pick up books. We take courses And we go to seminars to learn things. Where did I start at? I learned: * Body language first * Statement analysis * How to win friends and influence people All those things were good but what you're gonna learn today is far better! So I'm a huge Batman fan. If you guys can see it I got my Batman socks on. I always wear something Batman when I'm here . Why am I a Batman fan Because he wasn't a true superhero but he had all these cool tools in his utility belt that made him a superhero. So what this is today it's not THE TOOL but it's A TOOL to add to your tool belt to help you reach your goals. Now the cool part is where can you use this? EVERYWHERE and on EVERYBODY #decodingfaces #keynotespeaker #introverts
Epigenetics Explained: How Our Environment Shapes Us People ask all the time what about genetics? Aren't I just what I inherited from my parents my grandparents? Yes until the moment you're born Then Epigenetics is what comes into play. Epigenetics is how does the outside world impact you down to a DNA level. We all know like the guy in yellow Big upper body…little tiny legs. That is not genetics….That dude skipped leg day every day. Our faces are just the same in that they are made up of 43 muscles. Those 43 muscles as we get moved MIND—>MOVEMENT—>MUSCLE * The mind creates movement * Movement Creates Muscle Remember when our parents said “stop making that face or you'll get stuck that way!” Turns out there's some truth to that statement So because nobody ever wants to look at me once they find out what I do…… Here is a picture of me. If we can go past the obvious did I not have AMAZING HAIR in the nineties. That was the time of Vanilla Ice…….lots of hairspray and gel went into that look right there. But what you can see is what's changed over time: 1. My ears used to stick out more, now they're closer to my head. 2. My eyebrows used to be straight, now they're angled……..I did not go have that professionally done. That's a question that comes up all the time. 3. What's harder to see is my eye angle even changed over time Our faces are constantly changing based on: * The experiences we have * The thoughts that go through out mind * The faces we make repetitvely Thats why when we see someone who has left a job or relationship they were unhappy at when we see them later we say “Wow You Look Like a New Person!” #decodingfaces #epigentics #learntoreadfaces

The 3 Basic Eyebrow Shapes: Rounded Eyebrows The next one is ROUNDED EYEBROWS The third one that you see here is rounded eyebrows. The saying for this feature is “Rounded Eyebrow people think about the people AROUND them first” Meaning they think about the people around them FIRST and themselves SECOND. So if you make it about them You're going to lose them. You want to talk about their: * customers * co-workers * friends * family the people in their life Their sphere of influence is who they consider first when taking in information. This is is what a lot of people get wrong they try to pitch the person because they are the decision maker. My favorite analogy about Rounded Eyebrows is the Airplane Announcement:
“In the event of an emergency please put on your own mask before helping others put on their mask”

This is a perfect example of people who tend to focus on others first and themselves second. There is no right or wrong facial feature(s). It’s about learning to understand how others take in and process information. #decodingfaces #eyebrows #roundedeyebrows #learntoreadfaces #physiognomy #softskills #basics #briangalke #keynotespeaker
Introducing Mac: The Man Who Changed My Life and Taught Me How to Decode Faces Part 2 Part 2: This is picking back up off the last video where I explained meeting my Mentor Mac and how I went initially with the intent to prove that he was a fraud. I say that because in my ignorance of never having heard of Face Reading (aka Physiognomy) and thus assuming that it had to be BS.
Picking Up Where We Left Off: And I paid attention to everybody else because I thought he's going to use these generic Barnum statements on us. Barnum statements are statements that are generic enough that they can apply to a majority of the population. Things like: * You’ve had a hard time in life * You know someone whose name starts with M * Etc And I watched and I couldn't catch the guy doing anything! Once I learned the skill it helped me excel in so many areas of life. Then I became one of his top students because I couldn’t get enough of it all. More importantly I was using it in the real world and seeing success versus just getting certified. Now I mentioned before I was an introvert. And what I love about Batman is he’s “a superhero” but it's all about the tools he has in his tool belt. This was the best tool that I had but I needed all those other tools at the exact same time. Today take some time watch the video play with the cheat sheet you already have. If you don’t have the cheatsheet you can grab a copy at subtleskills.com It'll just help you get to your goals that much faster! We mentioned before who do you end up using it on Complete and total strangers. I can go to People I've never met like some of you who were at the dinner who came up and talked to me afterwards when we were outside to using our existing staff coworkers. Know who else you can use it on Everyone in your personal life! * Your friends * Your family * Etc
And you'll learn to start understanding things that used to drive me nuts about people that now i just appreciate them for who they are. I like to say “with the face comes grace” well because that's kind of true #learntoreadfaces #mentor #decodingfaces
