Most look incredibly old or decrepit (and many are centuries or thousands of years old) and thus, are forced to wear golden masks constructed by the house that give them a charming, smiling appearance, despite the desperation that lies beneath. These rust monsters are capable of devouring and corroding any metal (whether ferrous, magical, or nonmagical) and are true terrors to any adventuring party or faction using metal objects. The most common practice for sicking rust monster behemoths on a particular group is to capture pupating rust monsters. When the pupae hatch, the hungry behemoths corrode, dissolve, and devour all metal in their path.
