How to Break the “I deserve a little treat” cycle every night 1️⃣ Identify Why It’s Happening Behavior change isn’t a one size fits all approach. WHY are you falling into this behavior in the first place? Is it stress relief? Is it an automatic habit after dinner? Are you restricting yourself all day and are still hungry and unsatisfied at night? 2️⃣Create an If, Then Plan When one of the above pops up, have a plan in place for how to navigate it. This needs to go DEEPER than just “I’ll use willpower” This may look like: If I want a treat because I’m stressed, then I will wait 20 minutes and see if the feeling passes. 3️⃣ REPEAT Behavior change takes time. You’ll likely have to practice the NEW behavior(not rewarding yourself with a treat every night) many times before this becomes your norm. Keep practicing!
