I am SUPER excited to share that @Promise to Stronger Days film will officially be premiering at Slamdance film festival in Los Angeles, California February 20th – 26th, 2025 and virtually from February 24th – March 7th, 2025! Slamdance Film Festival is Oscars qualifying, BAFTA qualifying, & Canadian Screen Award qualifying. PTSD has been selected to compete in the Unstoppable Shorts category which is “a program made by and/or about creators with visible and non-visible disabilities.” I want you all to know that Slamdance was my
#1 festival I wanted to get into because of their commitment to funding and connecting disabled filmmakers to opportunities we wouldn’t normally have access to. Juliet Romeo, the founder of Unstoppable, just had her short Makayla’s Voice: A Letter to the World premiere on Netflix this past December 13th. Her path with Makayla’s Voice is so inspiring to me when I think of the future of PTSD and its prospective reach. This moment feels so surreal, and I’ll be honest I’m still digesting it. I had begun formulating this script idea 6 years ago by this point, and have been working on it diligently & thoroughly since then; it feels so good for it all to finally come into fruition. As they say, it takes years to become an “overnight success.” I cannot wait for all of the amazing opportunities that this will bring to us all. The future is VERY bright!
