A caloric deficit is the only way to lose weight (whether through exercise or dietary changes, being in a deficit was the answer). 2.) Protein is essential for preserving muscle while losing fat and keeping me full. 3.) I simplified my plan into two core goals: stay in a calorie deficit and focus on high protein. With those principles in mind, I got creative in the kitchen, making a healthier version of a double cheeseburger that was 450 calories and packed with 50g of protein. The result?
