#forthebabies celebrates the joy and love surrounding parenting and children. It showcases adorable moments, parenting tips, heartfelt connections, creativity, community support, and candid experiences that resonate with families and caregivers.
This is a myth! While many of the babies we care for have been exposed to street drugs, some babies have been exposed to prescription medication, such as methadone or suboxone. These are synthetic opioids prescribed by doctors to help relieve withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings for opioids. Either substance can cause withdrawal symptoms in infants. That being said, parental services at Maddie’s Place are not confined to those actively struggling with addiction. We also have the privilege of welcoming parents already in recovery and offering them the same support and resources.  Regardless of a parent’s life and background, we seek to offer consistent wraparound, non-judgmental care to every family. And we have found that when parents really embrace this peer support and our growing recovery family, hope for a healthy future blossoms.   #maddiesplace #forthebabies #forthemoms #nas #spokane #spokanewashington #easternwashington #spokanenonprofit #nonprofit #hopedealers #reel #fyp #foryou #fypage #babycare #babytok #mythbusting #recovery
“Past Christmases, I didn’t have a Christmas because... it was just another day of using, it was nothing different. But when I was at Maddie’s Place, it was very special.”   Mary lived at Maddie’s Place during the holiday season with her son last year. Having been introduced to drugs at a young age, it was her first sober Christmas.  She remembers how joyful everyone was, wishing her a merry Christmas and loving on her and her son.  “All the people at Maddie’s Place, they care for us like family.”  Now, Mary is eagerly looking forward to her first Christmas out on her own with her son. She has been surrounded by a wonderful community and can’t wait to experience the holiday in the healthiest version of herself.  Her story is an inspiration, and we hope that other parents might experience that same redemptive healing at Maddie’s Place.   #maddiesplace #forthebabies #forthemoms #nas #spokane #spokanewashington #easternwashington #spokanenonprofit #nonprofit #hopedealers #donate #volunteer #hope #WeDoRecover #soberchristmas #christmas #holidays #family #fyp #reel #fypage
Once an infant exposed to substances in the womb is born, they enter a period of withdrawal. Symptoms of withdrawal can include tremors, inconsolability, intestinal issues, sensitivity to light, sound, and touch, feeding dysregulation and many others. At Maddie’s Place, we provide these infants with intentional care practices backed by scientific research.   Through methods such as utilizing baby wraps and retreating into a dark room, we aim to bring these dysregulated infants back to homeostasis so that they can properly grow and develop at the most critical time of their lives.   For more information, visit us at www.maddiesplace.org.    All infants filmed in this video have media consent from their biological parent.    #maddiesplace #forthebabies #forthemoms #nas #spokane #spokanewashington #easternwashington #spokanenonprofit #nonprofit #hopedealers #reel #fyp #foryou #fypage #babycare #babytok
