A huge mistake I made as a beginner photographer is just buying whatever camera and/or lens that was popular and not what was going to fulfill my personal goals as a creative and what photos I wanted to take/edit. Do your research and rent gear before buying any camera or lens. This is my story about trying. It’s always felt right to use my camera whether that’s telling a story, creating marketing videos, or stupid social videos. I never posted much about it, but for the last 3 years, I’ve been working on a marketing team making videos every single day. I loved it, I really did, but I always wanted to take the huge risk and go full time trying to build something of my own. I wanted to give 110% to it. And I just felt like I could never do that with a full time job. So I made the leap. I’m not sure where life will take me, but here’s to trying, risking, and creating something bigger than myself. I’ll be working behind the scenes to grow my own agency Horizon Project Productions working with local service-based companies doing video marketing and lead generation. I’ve learned so much from my former marketing team and now I feel ready to tackle this on my own. So, if you know anyone who might be in need of those services, you know where to send them! I’ll also be building up @2gethercreative , another creative agency I co-founded with some of my best friends. If you don’t always know, we work primarily in the sports & lifestyle industry.
