Disclaimer, I was diagnosed with PCOS and I wish I had this advice when I first got diagnosed vs wasting years STRUGGLING. I was told that what I had to do was get on birth control & it would “regulate” my hormones. Then I was told that I would just have to suffer for life because you never get better from PCOS. First let me tell you, none of those are options. You can heal & no birth control will not actually help.  The moment you try to come off all those things will come back. So what would I do? First get a coach, like what we do for our clients. This would have helped me save so many years & thousands on trying to find answers that never worked. Second, work closely with your coach to get all testing needed to help you identify what is truly causing your PCOS. Because there is a root cause that will help you set the foundation to heal  Third, not trying to over do it on research when you have a coach that will truly help you heal. There is so much terrible advice out there for PCOS that doesn’t really help.  But can overwhelm you thinking you need to do all those things in order to get better Fourth, learn to not identify with your diagnosis for life. I say this because a lot of people think they will always have PCOS no matter what and it keeps them stuck from healing. The longer you are able to accept you can heal & no longer struggle with it for life. The better it will be for you. Don’t make this mistake if you are trying to lose weight:  Over the weekend I was asked what was the best rep ranges to lose weight.  I was asked if they needed to stay light weight & higher reps to be able to lose weight & tone up.    Reality is, you WANT to lift HEAVY regardless of your journey. Even if it’s weight loss, you don’t want to shy away from lifting HEAVY.    And it’s a huge mistake I see women make A LOT.    They think that if they lift heavy they will simply gain weight.    Which in turn makes them losing muscle & most times retaining or even gaining bodyfat    Because your body starts breaking it down as you try to diet harder since it’s not being stimulated enough to focus on gaining.    This is why one of the reasons why as you diet each year it because harder each time.  And you feel like your metabolism is slowing down & body isn’t “toning” up like you want it to.    Because each diet you had done your body was losing muscle as you lost weight instead of gaining it & losing body fat instead.    I’m curious, have you ever been told to not lift heavy in order to lose weight?
