3.5 years without weights, without complex workouts, WITHOUT INJURIES, without countless hours in the gym each week, without ANY focus on aesthetics, and without PEDs (likely obvious) Just a simple daily stretching routine, walking on my hands daily, hanging daily, and jiujitsu. (Jiujitsu contributes the least to how my body looks and feels) I’m not saying I have an amazing physique. I’m not saying weights, complex workouts, spending hours in the gym, or even PEDs are bad. I’m just saying that I’m able to reach my training goals without them. That they aren’t necessarily the only path to progress. I’m not saying that I have it all figured out, but I am saying that I feel a lot closer to my goals than I ever have before in my life. Things got a lot easier and more effective when I stopped looking for the perfect workouts and exercises, and focused on the functions I wanted/needed to perform. Everything seemed more clear when I switched my focus from body parts, to functions - from strengthening my wrists, to strengthening the FUNCTION of weight bearing on my hands and wrist. This paradigm shift seems small, yet completely changed how I approach training. This caption is already getting way too long, but if you want to learn more about my training philosophy I cover most of it in my book “The XP Guide to Walking on Your Hands” If you have any specific questions I’ll try to answer them in the comments. If you don’t have any specific questions, just drop an “XP” in the comments to let me know you read this whole post. Now, go get some XP.
