I didn't give him a chance to learn otherwise The problem is most people "see how things go" or "hope their puppy grows out of it" but really your puppy just keeps pulling, biting, jumping, barking and before you know it they’re 2 and now you're finally realizing they won't grow out of it and it's 10x harder to train them out of it because it's such a habit Before Denver was even "street legal"😂 I taught him leash manners From the second we started walks outside, we worked on not pulling, being neutral and not reacting to dogs and people, so all he's known is "I don't pull, I don't bark, I don't jump" It sounds simple because it is, when you start creating good habits with your puppy from the beginning, you get ahead of any "bad" behaviors This is why the puppy owner clients who start working with me before their puppy comes home have 4 month old puppies who are leash trained, will sit calmly at the dog friendly restaurant, don't bite, don't jump on guests Compared to people who wait and have 3,4 month old puppies who are already biting, barking, jumping, pulling on leash, where we now have to go back and undo behaviors that have already developed Pick your poison: start before and create good habits from day one or wait until we have to backtrack
