Today we share what a BAD run looks like… Not all runs are the same. This was the first time we went 3 weeks consecutively without a single run. It just always felt like something urgent was coming up that made it impossible to have the time or physically be able to. After feeling this way for so long, the hardest part is ALWAYS getting back on track. The endless thoughts of… “what if the first run back is super hard?” “what about all of the lost progress?” “It’s going to be impossible to bounce back…” We know the feeling all too well right now. But this isn’t the first time that I felt this way. As a coach and someone who’s been working out for years, this feeling of burnout or inconsistency is something I’m extremely familiar with. But the way I was always able to stay consistent was to realize that all it takes to get back into things is to literally, just get back into it. There’s no sugarcoating it. It’s going to be hard and it’s going to suck. And for us, our first run back was pretty difficult. But by committing again, you start the process of breaking your bad habit and rebuilding good ones. I know we typically document days of beating new records and running faster and longer as we train for upcoming marathon, but today, I thought it was important to document one of the hardest struggles of training for our first race that we face so far 💙 This was day 20 of mile to marathon.
