When a client wants a bold but blended face frame I like to leave the face frame out and save it for last. Before we start the service I show the client in the mirror and ask them how thick they want it to be so that we are on the same page about their preferences. I prefer to do it this way because it ensures an even lift on both sides of the face. I found when I was trying different techniques the lift wasn’t even. I start by taking a slice thin enough to see through, leaving only a few baby hairs in the front, and then I tease the section, apply lightener and feather up Next, I take another teased slice, making sure to push the tease out before applying the lightener. Next is a teased weave, I tease more and apply the lightener lower than the last foil. This client wanted more of a veil of blonde around her face so I took a section off of both sides, over directed and tease, feathering the lighter up higher towards the face. How may foils you add is dependent on the client and their preference As always, make sure to leave out any previously lightened ends. Want to learn more?
