✨January 1st, 2025 ✨ Today, I went to the Eiffel Tower to celebrate Haiti’s Independence Day. For Haitians, this place represents more than just a tourist attraction. In 1804, Haiti gained its independence, achieved with the blood of our ancestors. Yet, just 21 years later, in 1825, France returned to demand “compensation” in exchange for recognizing our freedom. This unfair debt, paid until 1952, is now equivalent to US $21 billion and $100 billion with interest. And yet, we are still here. Our roots run deep. We are Haiti! #haitiindependenceday #soupjoumou #haiti1804

Happy New Year and Happy Haiti Independence Day! 🎉🇭🇹 Today, we celebrate not just the start of 2025 but also the rich history and resilience of Haiti, the first Black republic and the first nation to abolish slavery. As a proud Haitian-owned business owner, I honor the sacrifices of our ancestors who paved the way for freedom and equality—not only for Haiti but also for countless nations, including the United States. Our legacy is one of strength, courage, and unyielding determination. Here are 10 powerful facts about Haiti’s Independence: 1️⃣ Haiti declared its independence on January 1, 1804, after a successful slave revolt led by Toussaint Louverture, Jean-Jacques Dessalines, and others. 2️⃣ It is the first country in the Western Hemisphere to abolish slavery entirely. 3️⃣ Haiti’s independence inspired other nations and enslaved peoples fighting for freedom, including in the United States and Latin America. 4️⃣ The Haitian Revolution is considered the most successful slave rebellion in history. 5️⃣ Haiti was the first independent nation in Latin America and the Caribbean. 6️⃣ The name “Haiti” comes from the indigenous Taíno word “Ayiti,” meaning “land of high mountains.” 7️⃣ Despite facing international isolation after independence, Haiti’s resilience and culture have flourished. 8️⃣ The Haitian Revolution contributed to the Louisiana Purchase, doubling the size of the U.S. 9️⃣ Haiti played a key role in aiding liberation movements in Latin America, including providing support to Simón Bolívar. 🔟 Soup Joumou, a traditional pumpkin soup, symbolizes freedom and is enjoyed on Independence Day as a reminder of our triumph. As I reflect on my journey, I’m reminded that my heritage is my strength. Being Haitian means embodying resilience, creativity, and a deep sense of community. I’m proud to carry this legacy forward through my business, empowering others to achieve their dreams. #HaitiIndependenceDay #HaitianPride #BlackHistory #HaitianHeritage #NewYear2025 #HaitianOwnedBusiness #Haiti1804 #SoupJoumou #Resilience #FreedomLegacy

Despite the circumstances today in Haiti, Haiti has paved the way for many uprising rebellions. In many places in the U.S, Haiti has left in impact in numerous places such as louisana (louisana purchases), florida (little haiti, north miami), chicago (founded by Jean baptiste point du sable), boston, etc. Also, people need to stop demonizing Haiti. Haiti is not a poor country it is rich in resources (that’s why people keep stealing from Haiti because of the sellouts presidents including the involvement of France & U.S), just because the propaganda shown Haiti as dirty, and poor doesn’t mean you should believe it. And Happy New Years Y’all. #haiti #haitiantiktok #haitiindependenceday #1804 #xuwaii #fyp
