Endometriosis: A 4000-Year History of Misunderstanding & Mistreatment 💔 Nearly 14 years ago I published the 4000-year history of endometriosis—a disease as ancient as it is misunderstood. This work was later published in the prestigious journal, Fertility and Sterility. Treatments throughout history were often cruel and misguided, including:   - Animal gonad extracts 🐐   - Throwing patients into cold water from bridges 🌊   - Hanging patients upside down🙃   - Leech therapy🩸   Instead of compassion, patients were called names like hysteric, nymphomaniac, or sex-deprived, further silencing their pain. 💔   While some progress has been made, we still have a long way to go. However, as of January 15, 2025, the FDA has announced a ban on Red No. 3 in all foods, drinks, and ingested drugs due to studies linking high levels of the dye to cancer in lab rats.  Food manufacturers are required to reformulate affected products by January 15, 2027, and the ban on ingested drugs will take effect on January 18, 2028.
