How much is TOO much?! ⬇️🤔 When it comes to new growth, it can be tricky to determine the right amount at the root. I usually follow the 2-inch rule—just enough to twist, but not so much that it leads to issues like married locs, excessive frizz, or breakage. So… why do you have so much new growth? 🤔 It could be due to several factors, like your loctician over-combing your roots, preventing proper locking, or frequent manipulation of your locs. Since the causes vary, I always recommend a consultation to find the best solution for your hair! As shown in the video, new growth can be instantly crocheted into the loc to prevent excessive loose hair. This not only helps your retwist last longer but also reduces maintenance between sessions. one of the key things about having locs is that you make sure whoever is taking care of them (including yourself) is knowledgeable, has growing hands & is intentional. • knowledgeable bc learning what works for your particular hair type, density, and scalp can make or break your loc journey. • growing hands is genuinely just having the right knowledge and understanding to see growth. • being intentional with your goals for your hair (or literally anything) will give you the results you want to see. time does play its part but loving your hair through every stage helps too . looking for someone to guide you through your journey ? let’s chat 💓 #locjourney #loccare #growinghands #healthylocsmatter
