We disassociate as humans because it's too painful to live in our current reality. This is so common for people who are over-functioning regularly. You feel like you're an outsider looking in on your life. To admit the reality of your life would be too painful. So you push it away, ignore the signs, and keep going. But what also comes with disassociating is brain fog, loss of memory, and not being present with your loved ones. Why over-function if it means you won’t enjoy your life? Why get yourself to a place of disassociation? What if your life instead looked like calm, peace, joy, presence, happiness? What if the brain fog went away? What if you enjoyed your life?
