Throwback to some footage from my first TikTok with a little more information about Winston, my almost 8-year-old Pekingese. Winston has a type of cancer called insulinoma. We found out about a year and a half ago. It’s not a great prognosis, and almost always metastasizes, but he is doing fine right now. He is not a candidate for the surgery, unfortunately, so we are managing symptoms currently with multiple feedings. It’s usually challenging to record because it occurs so quickly and lasts only for a brief moment, but I did it! While the footage is not perfect, it showcases our progress as we are now standing and attempting to take a few steps. As evident, he still lacks the strength to fully stand or walk independently. I affectionately refer to this as his "drunk walk." Some days are better than others; there are times when his left side is stronger, while on other days, his right side prevails. Randy remains on bed rest, spending all day, every day, laying down continuing to heal the spine. We are continuing his therapy, focusing on stretches and working to help him maintain his standing for longer periods. Unfortunately, he still struggles with bladder control, and we believe this issue will persist until he fully regains strength in his hind legs.
