But this doesn’t mean a manager, owner, or company will listen to them. Do we think Madeline Pendleton or Babylungs would take HR’s recommendations? HR can’t make a leader or owner do anything. HR often gets the blame when a situation doesn’t go how an employee wants it to go. But when you blame HR, you let leaders or owners off the hook. Regardless of if HR agrees with an employee or not, leaders get to decide what happens. A good question for Madeline to address is why an HR professional or attorney wasn’t consulted on this? And given how this situation has gone, will they seek consultation in the future? And, will they take the recommendations of that skilled consultation?
