Holidays used to be super stressful when I was growing up, thanks to my interstitial cystitis. If I didn’t wake up with bladder pain, there was a high chance I’d be flaring later on in the day due to a mix of stress, diet triggers, and the clothes I wore (skinny jeans were in back then) I remember feeling paranoid that anything I did or ate would trigger my pain, which I can now identify as being part of my pain-fear cycle and contributed to my nervous system getting stuck in fight or flight. Now that I have relief from my pain, I am able to enjoy the holidays and time I get to spend with my loved ones free of stress, paranoia, and pain. I can actually eat the yummy holiday foods my relatives make and I only get to indulge in once/year. I can be present during conversations with friends and family I haven’t seen in a while. I can have my favorite holiday alcoholic beverage - eggnog - without the fear of my pain flaring up. I feel free to enjoy the holidays and do it with confidence. I want you to know that no matter what your holiday season has looked like, next year can be different. Instead of feeling stressed when the next holiday season rolls around, you can feel completely different than you did this year. You could feel confident and enjoy yourself. How do you get there? You need to begin investigating your root cause. Find what’s causing your symptoms, treat/address that, and get relief. It can be that easy. If you need help, DM me “R2R” and I can share how my Road To Remission program can help you get relief in the next 3 months. And remember, if you have a flare-up during Christmas or New Year’s Eve, don’t panic! You’ll get through this❤️ #
