After a rain delay yesterday took my light, shortly after I added some patching plaster, scraped the trunk with a toothpick to give bark texture; I continued and finished my backyard tree art today. I mounted the tree in a piece of driftwood I have had for years. It fit it snug and sturdy. (It is a little intimidating when a project I’m in the middle of goes viral) If you are new to me, I am just a person who enjoys being creative, I have no art background other than just playing around since I was a child, I don’t follow art “rules” I don’t plan out my projects, I just let the ideas come to me and I act accordingly. The end product is never my goal, although I do get excited when something on occasion turns out well, but it’s the act of creativity that I’m after, the feel good chemicals naturally produced in me as I create. This is a hobby, I share freely. Being creative has added so much to my life and I would encourage it for everyone. The trees in my backyard are my most favorite thing about where I live and they inspire me daily. Using their fallen branches in art projects are always my most favorite kind of art to make. I know we won’t live in this house forever and I will miss them so much. Making art inspired by them soothes my soul, oh and about the project, I tied the branches together with twine, dolloped some strong glue where the branches met and I will continue on with whatever I think to do next with it, I have a few ideas brewing about it.
