Replying to @Rebecca Packard😜 HOW TO LOSE 5LBS REALLY FAST. Generally speaking, this is a red flag sentence. Lose weight really fast? Why? Why would anyone be in a super duper rush to lose weight? It opens the door to crash dieting and unhealthy habits. In this video, Eric Berg talks about OMAD (one meal a day) and I think this helps illustrate a really important point. At the end, he says “do you know how much weight you lose if you fast 23 hours per day?” And that’s an important question. Because the answer is entirely variable on WHAT you eat, not really WHEN you eat it. You could fast for 23 hours a day and not lose any weight. You could fast for 23 hours a day and gain weight. I have had clients who came to me saying “I only eat one meal per day and I can’t lose weight, but what am I supposed to do now, eat zero meals per day?” And that’s the point. Too many fasting fans think that the magic is the fasting window, rather than how that fasting window impacts your food intake.
