If your birth didn’t go as planned know you aren’t alone Ive gone back and forth on whether to talk about my birth in Germany on my feed. (I have stories with the breakdown from beginning to end). ‼️TRIGGER WARNING‼️ For months I prepared for a natural birth, spending hours watching births, taking a hypnobirth class, nightly exercises, holding ice, dates, red leaf tea etc. After 43 hours of contractions every 3-5 min with no pain medication, I made the tough decision to get an epidural and start pitocin. After starting meds, Theo’s heart rate was dipping and I agreed with the midwife and doctor to get a C-section. Once they got to Theo, he had wrapped the cord around his entire body. She later told Robin that there was no other way he was coming into the world alive. Right after he came out, my epidural wore off and I was screaming as they tried take the placenta. I was told it was pressure but I know what I was feeling. Robin told the anesthesiologist to give me more medication. I woke up in the recovery room and got to breastfed Theo for over an hour. I’m so very grateful that this story ended in a healthy baby and mom. I surrendered from the moment my contractions started. In @christianhypnobirthing I learned to overcome fear which brought me more confidence in making tough decisions. Birth trauma is so weird. Sometimes I’m unbothered and other times like this morning when my incision hurts from the keloid it takes me back. #birthtrauma #momvlogger #lifeabroad #americanabroad #ivfsuccessstory #livingingermany
