Cauliflower is versatile veggie, but oftentimes it can be finicky to grow. Here are some tips to get you started: Planting time 🌱 We selected a sunny location in our garden to plant our cauliflower. We amended the soil with compost and then transplanted our cauliflower plants into the ground in September. 🌱 We monitored for pest damage regularly and picked off any cabbage worm eggs. Care tips 🌱 We deep watered the cauliflower a few times a week (unless Mother Nature blessed us with rain). 🌱 We fertilized once during the growing season. 🌱 We blanched the cauliflower once the curd started developing- blanching is simply bunching the cauliflower’s outer leaves together in order to cover the curd. This helps limit discoloration of the curd. :) Harvest time 🌱 We checked the seed packet to learn the anticipated number of days from seed to harvest to get an idea of our harvest window. 🌱 We harvested our cauliflower when the curd grew to about 6-8 inches wide, and tight- before the curd started to separate.
