What’s your year defining moment? The Japanese call it misogi. @Jesse Itzler calls it your life resume. When you're on your deathbed, what do you want to say? That you played it safe? That you avoided the hard things? Or that you took chances, pushed through the tough moments, and lived at your full potential, without regret? Every year should have a misogi. A moment that stretches you beyond what you think you're capable of. It could be physical, emotional, or mental. Anything that challenges you to grow, learn, and live to your full potential. This year, my defining moments were: ✨Running and completing my first marathon. - a challenge that taught me resilience and the power of perseverance 🏅 ✨Finishing Andy Frisella's 75 Hard, which completely transformed my mindset and mental toughness 💪. It wasn’t just about the physical tasks. It was about learning how to push past comfort and build the discipline to create the life I want. This has truly changed my life. In 2025, I will push myself and find my limits. ✨I will compete in an Ironman competition. Which is a 2.4 mile open water swim, followed by a 112 miles bike ride, followed by a 26.2 mile run all in the same day with a 17 hour cut off time. ✨I will complete running at least a 5k everyday for a year(today is day 141) Over the past few years, my misogi’s were: ✨Cycling 1,800 miles across 36 days from Scranton, PA to Key West, FL. A journey that tested my endurance, my patience, and my belief in what I could accomplish 🚴 This is one of the best moments of my life. ✨Spending a year getting homeless veterans off the streets. This showed me how much love there is in the world but also in order to change your life, you need to change yourself and unfortunately those men that I helped didn’t want to change and are now back on the streets. ✨Cycling and Train riding around Taiwan in 10 days pushing myself mentally and physically learning new cultures and challenges 🌏 Each one of these has been a defining experience in my life. They’ve forced me to face my fears, push past self-doubt, and discover what I’m truly capable of. But more importantly, they’ve shown me that life is about the moments you create, the risks you take, and the boundaries you break. You don’t have to wait for some big moment or perfect timing. Start small, but make it meaningful. Every year, create a challenge that forces you to become better, stronger, and more alive. Whether it’s a physical goal, a mental challenge, or an emotional breakthrough. Make it your mission to have one misogi moment every year. Because in the end, what haunts you is the opportunities you passed up. The risks you avoided. The comfort zones you stayed in. Make a promise to yourself: live without regrets. Push yourself. Take the chances. Create your misogi moments.
