Things I’ve learned along the way, Just because we have our own trauma and truths, doesnt mean our children didnt see it and feel it from a different view point. IE: We busted ass to provide, they didnt see us enough. we screamed when shit was hard and scared them, we were undiagnosed ADHD/Autistic and without coping tools. We were stuck in our room for weeks and weeks at a time, we were recovering from another surgery due to undiagnosed autoimmune disease. Our trauma from life causes their early childhood trauma. Just because theirs may be more stable then ours, doesn’t mean we didnt leave them with their own trauma due to ours being unhealed. Help them heal by listening and NOT judging, or NOT allowing ourselves to feel judged. Be that safe space for them to share their perspective from shared experiences. We tried our best with what we had, but lets help them give the next generation better then what they were given…..healed parents while young. It is THE BEST gift we can help give our grandchildren.
