Remember that afternoon back in August of last year, when I made all of those 2D frame seals using the pour and scrape technique? Well, I finally got the last seal edited, lol. This stamp works especially well with the process, because its oval shape makes it an easy one to cut out ✂️ And good news!! This stamp is coming soon to the shop 🤗!! Everything is content, everything is content 🎵, lol. Yesterday was my daughter’s birthday, and one of her gifts was a Costco membership 💳 I started making a seal, and I’m like, wait!! Everything is content!! Unfortunately it was dark outside so you’re getting my normal office lighting. Which means shadows 😐. Which also means weird angles to avoid shadows 🫠 So yes, everything is content, but it isn’t always quality content, lol. I often get asked why I don’t pour directly onto envelopes, and this is a very good Exhibit A. I poured the wax, but the framed piece kept falling out of the stamp head (off camera). Normally, I would just remelt the red wax and start over, but since the wax was already on the envelope, I had to act quick. And it worked out fine. But the risk isn’t worth it, imo. Side note: I found this image on Pinterest, sized it down in photoshop, and printed it on matte photo paper. Our Art Therapy Kit is back in stock, so I shared a video from last year: Seals for care packages I put together for my kids for Valentine’s Day ❤️, with the promise that I’d show you what was inside said care packages. So this is also a video from last year, all info is correct EXCEPT, we DO carry the Plus Sign stamp head separately, as well as a Small Plus ➕ rod stamp 🙌🏼!! For the custom stamp in this kit, I chose a plus sign ➕. I think of this symbol as a modern fleur de lis. I wear it and use it in my all of my decorating and papercrafting. For me it symbolizes positivity, safety, security and self care. I also like using it in place of an ampersand, on a wedding card, for example. Aside from care packages, this seal would perfect on any type of “survival kit,” e.g. 50th Birthday Survival Kit, New Mom Survival Kit, Back to School Survival Kit etc. And wouldn’t the kit itself be a great gift for someone who could use a little therapeutic “me time” ? When I’m making seals, I like to coordinate the wax colors with my backgrounds. I needed the background wax to be a lighter color (otherwise, the rose wouldn’t show up, since it’s printed on vellum paper), but I didn’t have the exact light blue I was wanting, so I started mixing colors. Instead of matching the light blueish teal in the background books, I think I may have ended up closer to the “gray stuff” 😅. I guess at least it’s still Beauty and the Beast themed, lol?! P.S. If you ever go to Disneyworld, you MUST try the gray stuff!! (It’s delicious 🤭!!) I made two different seals using our Bell Jar stamp, and I ran into the same problem with both, so I’ll warn you if you’re wanting to try. Make sure your clear wax it really melted, so that you get a good thin press. I think my marble must’ve been cold or something, because both times, it was a little thicker than I prefer it to be, which can result in the problem we have here at the top of the seal. The clear cutout hit the bottom of the wax puddle, and it was so thick that it took up extra wax in the thickness, if that makes sense, and there just wasn’t enough wax to go around. If you happened to see the seal I made a few weeks ago with this same stamp (Oval Frame) and our highlighting cream, help me out here: On that one, I pressed the stamp into clear wax without pouring and scraping the brown wax. And then made the frame pop by using the highlighting cream on the clear. And it was just the prettiest satin finish. So my question is: was all the pour and scrape hullabaloo on this one necessary?! Maybe it’s because I (as usual) went a little overboard with the gold cream, so you can’t really see the brown? Idk. What do you think?! I often get asked how I find such tiny pieces of art to frame. Answer: I make them 🙌🏼!! Pinterest has tons of free art, and I’ve found lots of art collections for really reasonable prices on Etsy. So many layers on this one, it gets a little dizzying to watch 😅 A question I often get asked, is “Why did you cut the shapes out instead of pouring and scraping?” It really just depends on the stamp. If I poured and scraped this one, it’s 2D, so it would only fill in the outline of the shape, if that makes sense? Introducing our new Retro TV Frame 📺. Kind of a lame name for what a cool stamp it is 🤔. I may change it in the future if I think of something better. It reminds me a lot of our Do the Shuffle stamp, but totally different, lol. Playing with this is stamp is one thing that brought me happiness while I was sick. I thought a snow scene in our snow globe might be an appropriate seal, given everyone’s current weather conditions. Don’t mind the background, I set it up for a NYC snow globe and after making that one, I just decided just to go with it. I mean, there HAS to be some snowy wooded areas in New York?!
