#MarcDavis celebrates the legacy of the iconic Disney animator known for his creative artistry, whimsical characters, and contributions to beloved attractions, inspiring fans through engaging videos, sketches, and storytelling.

I SAID WHAT I SAID. This is no way an exhaustive list, just a few things I’ve been thinking about as we head toward the 70th anniversary. To be honest, I would love to see more of Disneyland’s rich history being honored and incorporated into this celebration. I know a few of these things I suggested are far too costly (and time consuming) to realistically happen for the 70th, but some would be easy to implement and add a little something special to honor Disneyland’s legacy. *gets on my soapbox* It also really bothers me that there are pieces of Disney history that people can’t ever experience unless they know somebody who kindly helps them (that’s me 🙋‍♀️) or they have the finances that support it (not me 🙅‍♀️). I personally think Disney’s history should be available to every Disney guest, including a chance to experience the Lilly Belle car, Walt’s apartment, and Club 33 at least once. While I realize there are a lot of logistics to allowing that to happen, perhaps we could bring back a little “year of a million dreams” magic and pixie dust more people with the opportunity to see these incredible places in Disneyland. *steps down from soapbox* What would you want to see added for the 70th? What I wouldn’t give to see those traveling lights again 😭 Honorable mentions for other concepts I considered: -Rolly Crump’s creepy hand vase & mushroom people - A little spider in a top hat (like the one playing the organ in a Marc Davis concept) - Words from Leota’s lost incantations (“Harpies and Furies, old friends and new, Blow on a horn, so we'll know that it's you…. Horned toads and lizards, fiddle and strum, Please answer the roll by beating a drum.”) The champagne could possible sit on a table up on the second-story balcony, like the glasses of lemonade used to back in the day. I think it would be a fun way to both foreshadow what’s to come and allude to life that used to be lived in the Mansion. 🤷‍♀️ But really, the well (probably not a wishing one, I misspoke 😂) that was going to be in the southern exit was what I was REALLY hoping for. They could easily just illuminate the water red at night with lighting so it could be somewhat “normal” the during the day. The inscription I mentioned was supposed to be scratched on a nearby wall, and even if it was tiny, I think it would be fun to have, like graffiti from regions beyond 👻 All of these ideas are just things I considered (hoped?) they might do during this remodel.
