President Donald Trump celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade, as anti-abortion activists gathered in Washington D.C., on Friday at the annual March of Life. "That unconstitutional decision took power away from the states and the voters kicking off 50 years of division and anger," said Trump in a pre-recorded video. "But thanks to your tireless work and devotion across five decades that historic wrong was set right three years ago." Vice President JD Vance along with other prominent Republicans, including Rep. Mike Johnson R-La, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sen. John Thune R-S.D., attended the annual event and addressed the crowd in person. Professional surfer Bethany Hamilton also spoke at the rally. "The task of our movement is to protect innocent life, it's to defend the unborn, and it's also to be pro-family and pro-life in the fullest sense of that word possible," Vance said. Despite cold weather, tens of thousands of anti-abortion protesters marched to the U.S. Capitol for the 52 annual event. The event comes one day after Trump pardoned several right-to-life activists convicted of blocking access to abortion clinics.
