For the CPC exam, you are permitted to write in your copy of your book, with a few exceptions. Handwritten notes in coding books are allowed only if they relate to daily coding activities. Notes from Study Guides, Practice Exams, or the Exam itself are not permitted. Tabs can be added, attached, or secured to the manuals as long as their purpose is clearly to mark a page with words or numbers, not to add extra information. Modifying the pages of the code books, such as by altering, covering, or printing over content (e.g., marketing pages, table of contents, or reference pages), to include additional information is strictly prohibited. Only tab dividers are allowed to be inserted, taped, pasted, glued, or stapled into the manuals.
