This was bad. This was actually the worst thing I’ve come across with mom in this nursing home. It was neglect. Pure and simple. It is hard to share but it needs to be seen. I know many of you have been upset in the past. I have been too. But with the staff, I try to be fair and understand. I try to remember the end goal and to also see it from a real life perspective. BUT This was too far. It was addressed this day and thankfully, I had our first care plan meeting already scheduled and was meeting with Hospice. This situation (as well as the next visit) I was able to share at the care plan meeting as examples of blatant neglect. If I hadn’t gotten that meeting and/or hospice. I don’t know what we’d be doing right now. We are stuck tbh. Neither dad nor myself are able to care for mom at home. I know many of you will say to take her home. It isn’t possible at all. After the drama of finding mom in such disarray and distress, I got down to visiting her, loving on her, feeding her (and Michelle) and spending time with her. Dad is finally visiting again after his bout with double pneumonia so I feel better about making sure all is right. One more visit and then the Care Plan meeting! I am so ready for this meeting. I am so ready for Hospice to be recommended and approved. It’s so time! AND I want her transferred to a facility close to dad.
