Let’s run 16 miles as a midsize, slow runner training for a marathon. Here are my favorite tips for my beginner runners: 1. A mile is a mile. A runner is a runner. It’s ok to walk. 2. The hardest part is getting started. But remember it’s supposed to be hard 3. You don’t need all the running gear. Invest in shoes that work for you, leggings that don’t rolls down, and a supportive sports bra 4. Join a program for your training. I follow the runna app. 5. Have a run buddy or join a run club. Join my run club the confidence crew on Strava 6. It doesn’t matter your age or stage, you can do this. 7. Your body may or may not change. Especially with long distance running, food is fuel. But also remember muscle weighs more than fat. 8.
