Since then, I’ve been focused on hosting gatherings with clear expectations, intentions, and themes—and it’s been amazing. For example, I hosted a Bridgerton premiere tea party with a dress code and specific intentions and it was such a hit! I’ve also hosted potion-themed birthday parties and intimate tea gatherings with friends. These thoughtful touches truly make a difference. This month, I’m thrilled about my cozy retreat gathering. I’ve invited my Book club group, and I think it’s exactly what we all need to unwind after the holiday hustle. Have you ever taught them what "sleepy" physically feels like? Because I know I haven't. A lightbulb went off for me today when I was begging my son to go potty and he was swearing up and down that he DIDN'T have to go. It was clear to me that he needed to go but he swore he didn't have to. I just thought he was being stubborn. Just like every time this happens, he seemed genuinely surprised to learn he DID have to go. Then it hit me. He doesn't know. He feels the feeling of a full bladder but he hasn't made the connection to needing to potty. I realized that I just assumed he knew (and he will eventually figure it out like we all do) but right now, He doesn't know that his body is telling him he is hungry, thirsty, tired , hot , cold, etc. Why do we just assume little kids, new to their bodies, just what their symptoms mean, when we as adults don't always know?
