Awareness isn’t enough. Because for some behaviors it’s deeper than operational awareness. When it comes to cleaning, there’s many narratives I can dissect. Inter generational trauma comes up often when I notice there’s a certain requirement for anger to successfully clean my house. And remember how my mother did the same. And think of other moms and how they yell while cleaning too.  I’m also aware these feelings are a gift and sometimes require some further gentle inquiry. Some things I’m doing to help process these feelings is 1. Keeping my husband in the loop is my first priority. Because he feels a deep responsibility for my happiness, I want to make sure he knows that I’m ok and that I will verbalize if I need him. This helps us with our responsibilities to each other.  2. Music helps! I put something hype so I can move. I focus on whatever comes up. I sit with it. Sometimes I sing, vocalize sensations. Give these energies somewhere to go.  3. Listen to myself. I’m never upset over nothing. If my internal volume goes up, there’s a reason. And it’s MY responsibility to manage it. This includes finding the right time to address it too. This doesn’t give me the authority to shit someone’s day just to sort out how I feel. Energy responsibly.  4. Garden. Gardening always gives me perspective. My mood is instantly changed. Meditation seems to be the first skill I would eliminate if I didn’t feel I had time or felt like it. In my mind, it always felt like a waste of time that I could be doing _______ anything.  And it has been through this quiet stillness that I’ve had the greatest breakthroughs in life. And Ive learned that in sharing space to grow with people you love is an expansion project. I enjoy sharing thoughts and ideas that come up and having conversations about challenges as well.
