One of the best changes I’ve made for my family’s health is switching to non-toxic detergents and soaps—especially for washing our dishes! These homemade dishwasher tabs are so easy to make, budget-friendly, and free of harmful chemicals. A small switch, but a big win for our home! Non-Toxic Dishwasher Tabs Recipe Ingredients: • 1 cup @armandhammer washing soda • 1 cup salt (preferably fine grain) • 1 cup @armandhammer baking soda • 1 tablespoon citric acid • 3/4 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed or bottled) Instructions: 1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the washing soda, salt, baking soda, and citric acid. Stir well to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed. 2. Add Lemon Juice: Gradually pour in the lemon juice a little at a time, stirring constantly. The mixture may fizz slightly, which is normal. Continue mixing until the texture resembles damp sand. 3. Mold the Tabs: Press the mixture firmly into ice cube trays or silicone molds. Ensure each mold is tightly packed to help the tabs hold their shape. 4. Allow to Harden: Let the tabs sit in the molds for 24 hours or until completely hardened. Once dry, gently remove the tabs and store them in an airtight container to keep them fresh. Usage: • For regular dishwasher loads: Use 1 tab per wash. • For hard water: Use 1 tab + 1/2 tablespoon of citric acid to help prevent mineral buildup and improve cleaning efficiency. Enjoy sparkling clean dishes without harmful chemicals!
