At around noon, all lanes going southbound on Rt 17 in #RidgewoodNJ were closed after a tree fell into the roadway. The debris caused damage to two vehicles driving by & injured one passenger. The passenger was injured after a debris shattered the windshield of a tow truck & she sustained face/eye injuries from glass. The roadway has since reopened. A 14 year old is now faced with charges of terroristic threats, and false public alarm after posting a suspicious TikTok video about wanting to "shoot up" @bergencc. On December 6, the police were notified about a suspicious post made by the juvenile saying they were going to do it an upcoming date. The 14 year old was released to the custody of a guardian. You can't park there On Monday around 3:50pm hey 52-year-old woman from #NewMilfordNJ was attempting to park at a shopping center on route 17 in #ParamusNJ. However, she accidentally accelerated smashing into three other cars and then into a wall. The woman crashed into the wall of a soon to be Lid Supermarket in the homeGoods and Burlington shopping center. Only one of the parts vehicles was able to be driven away, and a seven year old suffered minor injuries. A statement by the superintendent sent out via email on Monday said "Such expressions of hate are unacceptable, have no place in our community, and starkly contrast the principles of inclusivity and respect instilled in our schools,". PSA *In case you've been seeing some videos recently that claim the drones are "spraying" some sort of mist for some reason, you're being lied too. This stems from a conspiracy theory that believes airplanes are purposefully releasing poison into the sky.* What you are actually seeing it is something called "Contrails" which is short for condensation trails. They are a line shaped cloud, which is produced by aircraft engine exhaust which is mixing with cold air at high altitudes, which creates a cloud affect. They're duration and size, vary almost entirely on the pressure in humidity of the air at the planes altitude. You can see these condensation trails at all times of the day because they are dependent on the humidity in the air at the altitude in which the plane is traveling at. although contrails do not pose a health risk to humans, they do contribute to global warming because they can trap heat in the atmosphere. Currently, scientists in the aviation industry are trying to find technological solutions to solve this problem.
