Ethnic Cleansing is defined by the systematic forced removal , expulsion, or killing of ethnic, racial, or religious groups from a given area. Along with direct removal such as deportation or population transfer, it also includes indirect methods aimed at forced migration by coercing the group to flee and preventing its return, such as imprisonment, threat of deportation , or threat of being put into concentration camps. So mass deportation falls under ethnic cleansing. In the U.S the plan is to put them in concentration camps and the main targets are those from below the U.S border. The large target of those who have migrated from below the U.S border is just a continuation of ethnic cleansing since colonialism. Because most the people descend of the original peoples of the land and by portraying them as outsiders or not belonging it basically severs them from the land. These people are often times labeled as "Migrant workers” but most are really just exploited descendants of Indigenous peoples whose countries were dismantled and couped by the U.S government. They are deemed "illegal" and "foreign" on land their ancestors have always lived and roamed on freely. There was an imaginary line put into place and moved several times and eventually used as another form of discrimination. By labeling people as “illegal” it oppresses those who descend from the Indigenous peoples. In an effort to excuse discrimination, land theft, oppression, ethnic cleansing and erasure. The propaganda and efforts were the exact efforts Nazi Germany used of mass deportations and making it seem as if certain groups were committing more crimes then they were. Even calling immigrants / migrants illegal aliens isn’t even accurate since presence in the U.S. without proper documents is a civil offense, not a criminal one. It’s equivalent to slander or playing music at your house too loud. Explain how I don’t belong on land that my ancestors have roamed for centuries @jearicafountain_designs Those whose ancestors have long inhabited the land are often portrayed as outsiders, despite the fact that our ancestors have roamed the lands for centuries, long before the imposition of borders or colonization. This portrayal serves a purpose, to facilitate the justification of colonization , discriminatory policies, domination, assert supremacy, and land claims, by casting those who descend from the land as not belonging on the land or just these terrible people that our existence ruins it for the settlers and their descendants. Such narratives are part of a broader global pattern aimed at cutting Indigenous connections to their ancestral lands. The current conditions we face stem from the root causes of settler colonialism, genocide, and supremacy. Under settler colonialism, settlers do not care about the People or the land. Their relationships are based on domination, colonialism, extraction and exploitation. This is a shared experience globally throughout communities whose ancestors descend from the land. By acknowledging the root of this discrimination , we resist the colonial stigmatization that labels us as “illegal,” “criminal,” or undeserving of living on our own land. The objective of such colonial practices is to sever Indigenous ties to the land in order to facilitate land claims and further colonization. #thanksgiving #thanks #nativeamerican #nativeamericans #american #americanindian #americanindians #landback #wearestillhere #indigenous #indigenouspeople #indigenousland #indigenouswater #nativetiktok #IndigenousTikTok #fyp #americanindianmovement #myheroshavealwayskilledcolonizers #myheroshavealwayskilledcowboys #woundedknee ##fypシ #fypシ゚viral #fyppppppppppppppppppppppp #mexico #chicana #chicano #brazil #columbia #notillegal #stolenland #ecuador
