Over the past few weeks, lightning strikes have started numerous fires in isolated #bushland across the state. In order to access these remote #fires , crews are required to either hike in or are winched in by helicopters. With over 171,000 #lightning strikes detected in the last 72 hours, more than 100 remote area #firefighters are currently #deployed onto the fireground. These crews use hand tools to build containment lines around the fire and are also supported by water bucketing #helicopters to extinguish these fires before they become too large.
