WORRYING DOESN’T WORK. Worry is what I call a dark emotion. It has no redeeming value. It’s “mental littler”, a big sloppy mess that causes turmoil in our minds.  Worried about your friends in LA dealing with the wildfires? Worried about medical test results coming next week? Worried about what the heck yer gonna do in your retirement years? 
If left unchecked, these worries will suck the life out of you. They will deplete you of all your precious energy that could be spent:  💪 Taking good care of yourself. 💪 Taking action steps to help that person in need, who you're worrying about 💪 Staying in a positive mindset to set yourself up for retirement ideas. 
WORRY HAS EVEN A DARKER SIDE: Unconsciously we think that by worrying we are somehow making the situation better.  We actually think by worrying at 3AM we’re helping our friend, influencing the results of that medical test, our retirement fears will vanish. 
 WOW, that’s so twisted. Never believe this. It’s an illusion.  Here are three easy hacks that can ease your worry: When worry sets in GET UP AND MOVE around the room for 30 seconds. It’s essential that you interrupt the thought. 
 Next CHOOSE TO STOP THAT THOUGHT. Chop! Chop! Chop! that worry in two and throw it in a dumpster.

Ask yourself “What one action step can I take today to take care of myself, help my friend in LA, or start to address my retirement fears?”

Do these three hacks daily to ease the burden of all that worrying.

FEELING SOME POST HOLIDAY BLUES?

Don't you hate this time of year?  The menorah’s packed and put away. The Christmas tree’s in the dumpster, everybody's gone home and you're left to clean up the wreckage, go back to work, run the house, and figure out what the heck you're going to do with yourself in 2025. Early January. Blah.  I’m kinda feeling dumpy. Are you?  Here’s a proven confidence tactic I do that works every time I get “The Dumpies”.

You can do this when you feel unmotivated, lonely, a little depressed and maybe have some S.A.D. (seasonal affectation disorder). Get up and get out! 💪 Talk a walk. 💪 Do your walk with intention by taking deep belly breaths and feeling grateful.  💪 Take two more walks later in the day to ensure “The Dumpies” stay away.  Getting up and getting outside shifts your mood quickly, helps you reclaim your confidence and sets you up to have a productive day.  This stuff works! #ohyesyoucan #ibelieveinyou #newyear #postholidays #seasonaldepression #backtotherealworld #motivation #stayingactive #lifestylechanges #mentaltoughness #bemoreconfident #internalstrength #aginggracefully #womenover50 #confidencecoach #confidencecoachforwomen
WATCHING THE LA WILDFIRES ON THE NEWS IS HORRIBLE. Seeing so many people suffering leaves us feeling helpless, guilty, angry and distressed. HOW YOU CAN HELP: Here are three confidence tips to effectively help the victims and feel better yourself.  #1: THEY DO NOT NEED OUR WORRYING, OUR GUILT, OUR ANXIETY. We can’t help people who are suffering if we are a mental wreck, so the first step is to stop your worrying and feeling guilty. It never helps.  #2: GET BUSY! BEING PRODUCTIVE EASES OUR PERSONAL FEELINGS OF ANGER, DISPAIR AND HELPLESSNESS. So go do satisfying tasks at home and at work to feel a bit better. I love this 12 Step maxim: “When we get busy we get better.” 
#3: Make a donation, (I give tips below for how to do so safely) and if you are a woman of faith, pray. Every dollar and every prayer counts. Prayer is a personal experience so follow the guidance of those at your place of worship and stay close to your faith community. This problem is not going away tomorrow, and your feelings of guilt and anguish will creep back in. So, repeat these three steps every day to stay in an emotionally healthy mindset.

Beware! There are scammers everywhere.  1. Ask a friend (or someone you trust) who lives in the location of need, for the name of a trustworthy local organization that is taking donations. For example, it could be a synagogue who is funding five families in their congregation who have lost their homes.  2. Go to www.charitynavigator.org and select an organization that has a 4-star rating. These are safe organizations to donate money to. Want my 1:1 coaching? HERE’S A FUN WAY TO BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE.  Forget taking pills. Your fork is the ultimate confidence lifter. Chomping on nutrient dense food rewires your brain's “I feel good” circuitry and you go to bed at night feeling lighter, healthier and more….self-asurred. 
 Can we talk donuts vs. salads for a sec?

Eating both costs you about 350 calories. That spinach salad is busy fueling you with energy, providing good gut bacteria and feeding your brains’ neuropathways so you think clearly. 

The donut? It’s a nutritionally empty couch potato, sitting there looking all gooey and chocolatey. The 60 seconds of sugary pleasure you get comes with an enormous price.  Fasten your seatbelt for an energy and confidence crash just minutes after you eat it.  As your confidence coach, choose wisely food warriors. I encourage you to eat smart and feel epic. Here’s my “Kitchen Sink” salad recipe. 

In a bowl combine:

A handful of organic salad greens.  A ripe pear or apple, diced. A few slivers of a Vidalia onion, for punch. A stalk of celery, diced.
Leftover grains; quinoa, lentils, brown rice – warmed up first. My 10 second homemade salad dressing. (I sprinkle these ingredients directly on the salad): 💪 3 tbl. extra virgin olive oil 💪 1 tbl. white balsamic vinegar 💪 Salt, freshly ground Tellicherry black peppers  Gently toss all the ingredients together in the bowl for 20 seconds.
