16th Century English Tudor hotel + bar hidden in the Bay Area 😱🇬🇧 Last Christmas Eve, Robin and I checked into the @pelicaninn and had one of my favorite Christmases to date. This inn is incredibly charming - just oozes old world charm and really makes you feel like you walked back in time (and across the pond!) Every Christmas Eve they have a massive feast which is open for non-guests if you wanted to pop by for a dinner. Then, there's tons of caroling in the Snug, and wine and beer and for the adventurous folks, beach bonfires on Muir Beach. Waking up here on Christmas Day to do a morning walk on the beach after a full English breakfast was absolutely delightful. I can't wait to spend another Christmas here one day. It's a true gem. Bay Area, you can't miss this!!! 😱 I just saw the Amy Sherald: American Sublime exhibition at SFMOMA (up now until March!) and it's just fantastic. You probably recognize @asherald Michelle Obama portrait, but now there's a chance to see 50 of her other paintings. She has a unique approach to portraits -- she spends hours posing subjects, sometimes even building mini sets for them to sit in, and then takes a photo to work from for her painting.
