After three years of homelessness and suffering, today was the day I promised her would come. The trust she had in me, even when I wasn’t sure this would be possible, was truly a gift from Allah. People often expect me to secure housing in just a day or two, but finding these resources is one of the hardest things. I once told her that one day, I would sit in her home drinking coffee—and today, I did just that. So far, I’ve been able to do this with 15 clients, despite the incredibly difficult journey. It has been filled with tears, pain, and even anger directed at me for not getting housing fast enough. But Alhamdulillah, moments like this make it all worth it. One thing about me—I never give up.
