Exploring creativity from a new angle! We wrapped plastic wrap around the bottoms of our upside-down tables and had a blast painting them in our toddler classroom. đ This activity is more than just paintingâitâs an invitation to play or more specifically, an invitation to PAINT. đ¨ In a Reggio Emilia-inspired environment, invitations are about setting up opportunities that spark curiosity and invite children to explore at their own pace. By turning the tables upside down and using plastic wrap, weâve created an engaging, unexpected space that encourages children to experiment with new perspectives, problem-solve, and engage their creativity in a tactile way. The environment itself becomes the âthird teacher,â inviting children to engage with their surroundings, collaborate with peers, and make choices. This isnât a structured task with a set outcomeâinstead, itâs an open-ended experience where the focus is on exploration, creativity, and self-expression. Children are free to interact with the materials, paint from different angles, and make the experience their own. Itâs through these invitations to play and paint that children develop a sense of ownership over their learning and discover the joy of creative exploration in a dynamic, playful way.
