Yo no estoy organizando este evento, pero quiero compartir un mensaje importante. Si realmente queremos ser escuchados, hagámoslo con respeto. Les pido a todos que vistan de blanco como símbolo de paz y unidad, pero eviten llevar banderas de México. No se trata de olvidar quiénes somos ni de negar nuestras raíces, sino de demostrar que queremos estar aquí respetando este país. También es momento de reflexionar sobre el ejemplo que damos a nuestros hijos nacidos aquí. Muchos de ellos son ciudadanos, pero lo que hacen en las calles nos representa como padres y como comunidad. No podemos exigir respeto si nuestros jóvenes andan quemando llanta en sus carros y comportándose de una manera que nos deja mal parados. No le demos razones a quienes nos critican. No caigamos en provocaciones ni en actos que puedan desviar el propósito de esta marcha. Si queremos que nos respeten, primero debemos demostrar respeto. Y esto no solo aplica en Georgia. En cualquier estado de Estados Unidos donde nos manifestemos, hagámoslo con respeto, con dignidad, con educación. They call us illegal… yet they have no issue paying less to save money. They seek us out when they need a job done quickly and done right.
