We ask teachers to submit lesson plans out of compliance to make sure it gets done. But here’s the thing: The majority of teachers are going to have a plan for their students–and they don’t need to submit it on a template. Here’s what we do at our school: We don’t require teachers to submit plans. And if someone isn’t teaching, that’s a one-on-one conversation. Here are two things that would significantly increase teacher morale: 1. Let’s provide teachers with more trust. 2. When an educator isn’t performing, follow-up individually.
