These are so simple to make and sure to be a crowd pleaser. Make sure to save this one for later🎄 Pesto Puff Pastry Christmas Trees 2 puff pastry sheets ( I used a gluten free one) 1/4 cup pesto of choice or homemade 1 egg 1-2 Tbsp shredded cheese Optional: marinara sauce for dipping Instructions: 1. Defrost your frozen puff pastry dough according to package 2. Soak your skewers in water for at least a couple hours before using to prevent them from burning (I soaked mine overnight) 3. Preheat oven to 350°F 4. Roll out your puff pastry dough and add one sheet to cutting board 5. Spread the pesto all over the sheet 6. Add the second puff pastry sheet on top 7. Slice into about 1 inch thick strips, using a pizza cutter 8. Using one of the strips, use a small star cookie cutter, to create the star topper for the tree 9. Fold each strip of dough accordion style, start with a small amount and widen as you go until you reach the end 10. Place a soaked long skewer in the center and add the star 11. Place on a lined baking sheet and brush with egg wash 12. Bake for about 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and puff pastry is cooked through 13. Sprinkle with cheese of choice and enjoy with some marinara sauce to dip in . .
