As I get older, I've started to feel uneasy about the term "best friend." It seems to put so much pressure on us as humans! It forces us to navigate the tricky waters of friendship, making us feel like we need to compete for that title when, in reality, it's perfectly okay to have a close group of friends who all mean a lot to you. In Mel Robbins' "Let Them Theory," I came across a fascinating point about adult friendships. The truth is, friendships are meant to drift apart, evolve, disappear, or even reunite later on. They will always change, and you’ll continuously meet new people along the way. For those of us with ADHD, maintaining friendships can be particularly challenging. We might forget that people exist or lose track of time, leading us to wonder where everyone went. That’s why it’s essential to remember to reach out to others just as we hope they’ll reach out to us. Even if it’s not as frequent as we’d like, making an effort for those who matter to us is key! 💖
