☠️A toxic, poisonous mindset that I encounter regularly within the herbal and natural healing community is that everything should be free. Here is why this is such a problem. ⬇️ While I understand that herbalism has always been the medicine of the people, and while I support that continuing, anyone can find all kinds of information for free on the internet or your local library. I also understand that accessibility is an issue for a lot of folks (and this is reflected in how much free information is available on my accounts as well as my lowest offer with direct mentorship being $47/mo). 💵BUT, when it comes to someone giving you their expertise and direct support and mentorship, there needs to be equal exchange, and it is unethical to expect otherwise. Why should professional herbalists, who have invested heavily their own time, energy, and money in their own training not be paid for our labor like any other professional? 🏋🏼‍♂️Just like you pay a personal trainer to get better results with your workouts, and you may need to actually be willing to pay an herbalist for his/her expertise and support if you want to get better, more meaningful results that truly change your health and lifestyle. 🌎We really can change the health paradigm and advocate for better systems and better planet care AND better people care by being willing to pay natural health professionals for their labor. 🛑We need to STOP making these folks feel badly about charging for their time, especially when so many of them give away so much already.
