Tips for practicing upper body separation 🎿 Upper body separation is super necessary for getting your skis to behave optimally on the snow and is key for leveling up your skiing. Separation basicallly refers to the concept that your upper and lower body are doing different things throughout the turn. You want your upper body to stay facing down the hill and staying super steady and solid while your lower body does all of the turning. Here are some of the things I do to practice: 1. Think about keeping my zipper facing down the fall line or directly down the run. It doesn’t twist to face the sides of the run / the trees 2. Use a strong pole plant to center my upper body at the start of each new turn 3. Try drills like the ones in this video to break down different technical aspects and practice #skiing #ski #skitips #skitutorial #howtoski

I’m on the move today and wanted to share this quick travel tip that all skiers should be aware of. I always always always carry my ski boots on the plane! If my luggage were to get lost, I know I could always find a pair of skis to use, but finding good boots that really fit my feet would be a nightmare. This is especially true if you’ve had any kind of boot work done. I stick them together using the booster strap and hang them over my backpack and then I just tuck them under the seat in front of me. They usually count as a personal item. Be careful not to smack anyone while you’re walking down the aisle! Ski gear tips to have a more enjoyable ski day 🎿 1. Only wear one pair of ski socks and only your ski socks go inside your ski boot. Be sure to lift your base layers too so they’re not in your boot! 2. Carry your skis on your shoulders with tips in front for easy carrying, or vertically with the brakes holding them together. 3. On snowy days, keep your goggles on your face to prevent fogging up. When you take them off and on, snow collects on top of them and can cause lots of annoying fogging! 4. Buckle your boots correctly (going to make a whole other video on this!). The tightest buckle should be the second (closest to your ankle). 5. Invest your own ski boots - it makes a world of difference! Skiing shouldn’t be painful at all once you’re in the right gear ⛷️ Hope that helps!
