Hi! I'm Felicia. Nice to meet you! . . I was diagnosed with my rare disease, Wegener's Vasculitis in 2012! A few fun facts about me: 1️⃣ I always wanted to be a Mom. As I was sitting in my rheumatologit's office at our first appointment, he gave me my diagnosis and explained what the next steps were. When he asked if I had any questions, I only had one, "Will I still be able to have children." It became my mission to get strong enough and healthy enough to have babies. My girls are now 5 and 3. 2️⃣ I love to read. Any kind of book. If it's an engaging story I am here for it! I used to devour five or more books a month. That was one of the first things the disease took from me. Prednisone strained my eyes so intensely that I couldn't read. 3️⃣ I wanted to be an FBI Agent. When I was little I decided I wanted to be a Criminal Profiler for the FBI. I was preparing for Quantico when my Dad died. Shortly after I watched an episode of CSI and Grissom told Sara, "We meet people on the worst day of their lives." Right then I gave up that dream. Having lived that kind of a day, I didn't want to spend my life like that. . . Thank you for coming along on my journey today as I share about my life, my disease, and some resources if you have Wegener's . .
